What To Do:
  • Read  through some of the article summaries posted on the WebBoard and find one thay interests you.  
  • Explore the topic further by doing some research on the internet or using various other sources or people.  You are looking for new, but related information that was not mentioned in the  original article summary.  You may ask a question or answer a question that has come up  in the discussion. 
  • Post a 1-3 paragraph reply to the article discussion. Your reply should present either a new idea, new question, or new information related to the article response (5 sentence minimum).  At the end of your reply, cite the source(s) of your information in proper MLA format.  
To post reply, simply go to Web Board, select "Article Discussion", select the response you want to comment on, then click "Reply" at the bottom.  
ideas Words of Wisdom :
      • To get the full 7 points, be sure to bring in new information and be sure to reference the source of your information.
      • Since web pages do not recognize the TAB  key, I recommend that you hit return twice at the end of each paragraph to make a space as a means to separate one paragraph from another.
      • When posting your reference for an online source, use the square [] tags around the URL instead of the triangular <> tags that MLA Style calls for.

  • The reply continues the discussion by introducing a new a new idea, question, or information related to the topic.  Information from a new related source is summarized. 
  • The reply is a minumum of 5 sentences long 
  • Proper use of language is demonstrated 
  • An outside source is referenced  in proper MLA format.
One of the following is noted:
  • The reply introduces some new thoughts or questions, but does not introduce any new information.
  • The reply is less than 5 sentences
  • A few errors occur in use of language
  • No additional source is referenced
